Dangerous Liaisons

The 2022 drama Dangerous Liaisons turns Pierre Choderlos de Laclos’ 18th-century novel into an intricate exercise in payback. Fans are drawn to the friction between two former lovers who treat seduction not as romance, but as a calculated weapon. Every move is measured to exploit the people around them, turning high-society encounters into tactical campaigns where the drive to avenge past wounds steers every choice.

Rather than delivering a polite costume piece, the series leans directly into the calculated cruelty of its central pair. With Alice Englert among the cast, the production keeps the tension taut as personal betrayals multiply. It satisfies an appetite for dark manipulation, watching clever operators use charm to dismantle their targets while refusing to let sentiment get in the way.
