Overview

After a festival confession, art student Duang sets out to win over a guarded music major, slowly turning first love into a safe haven for them both.

Critical Reception

What critics are saying

Score 76 /100

Critical reception for Duang with You is largely positive, with many reviewers framing the Thai campus rom-com as a bright and comforting mood-booster. The series receives praise for its vibrant visuals, gentle directorial pacing, and strong production quality, successfully leaning into the popular golden-retriever-meets-ice-prince dynamic between its lead characters.

The cast's performances are frequently highlighted as a core strength, with lead actor TeeTee praised for delivering an energetic and lovable portrayal. Critics note that the central relationship transitions effectively from loud, energetic antics to tender, dramatic emotional beats as the guarded music student slowly lowers his walls.

However, several critics point out narrative limitations, observing that the show offers very little overarching plot beyond its main romance. For some, stretching this thin narrative over 12 long episodes creates pacing issues, while others noted that the persistent, energetic pursuit in the early episodes could occasionally feel childish or intense.

“one of the most refreshing "mood-booster" dramas of early 2026”

“surprisingly gorgeous to watch”

“Most of the plot is buoyed by the cast, particularly TeeTee, who delivers an unforgettable and lovable portrayal of Duang.”

“A drama that relies on the romance between Duang and Qin and nothing much, having 12 long episodes is just too much.”

Why fans love it

Duang with You strips away the high-stakes theatrics typical of the lakorn genre in favor of a quiet, deliberate pace. This 2026 drama leans into the domestic rhythm of its characters, focusing on the small, grounding details that build connection rather than external conflict. By centering the story on the gentle navigation of a new relationship, the show positions romance as a literal relief from the pressures of university life.

The chemistry between the lead performers, including Wanpichit Nimitparkpoom, relies on subtle expressions rather than dramatic gestures. This approach transforms a standard art-school setting into a space that feels genuinely optimistic. It is a rare example of a series that treats affection as a calm, steady practice. While the inevitable angst appears to test the bond, the production maintains a comforting atmosphere that prioritizes emotional safety above all else.
