Hot Skull

Hot Skull earned a generally receptive yet divided response from critics, with much of the praise directed at its atmospheric world-building and high production quality. Reviewers commended the visual realization of a dystopian Turkey and appreciated that the story begins years into the epidemic, allowing the series to explore the bleak realities of established authoritarian control, curfews, and strict zoning reminiscent of other grounded post-apocalyptic thrillers.

However, the series faced scrutiny for how it handled its premise. While several critics found the protagonist's personal arc engaging and the pacing solid, others argued that the show leaned too heavily on conventional dystopian tropes. Some pointed out that the series underutilized its central linguistic concept and its linguist protagonist, with more negative assessments dismissing the execution as an unimaginative translation of an otherwise high-concept narrative.
