Percy Jackson and the Olympians

Percy Jackson and the Olympians has been received as a satisfying and faithful adaptation of Rick Riordan's beloved fantasy novels, broadly seen as a significant improvement over the prior feature films. Critics praise the series for letting its young leads authentically inhabit their roles and for capturing the magic, humor, and emotional depth of the source material. Its family-friendly blend of Greek mythology and grounded coming-of-age themes made it a standout entry for Disney+.

However, the show drew some criticism regarding its structure and tone. Some reviewers noted that the pacing felt rushed as it rushed to hit key book plot points, occasionally leaving insufficient room for natural television flow and character development. Others found the early episodes somewhat generic or formulaic, while parents' guides noted mixed reactions to violent moments and narrative departures from the books. Overall, the consensus frames it as a charming, welcome reboot that treats its young audience with respect.
