Sonic Prime

Sonic Prime translates the speed of the source material into a fractured series of realities. Because the shattered universe forces the hedgehog into entirely new versions of familiar settings, the animation style shifts to accommodate these starkly different planes of existence. It creates a rhythm where rapid physical traversal meets the disorientation of being a stranger in a series of strange worlds.

Deven Mack provides the voice for a lead character who spends much of his time adjusting to the absence of the people he relies on. The narrative focuses on the internal weight of that isolation despite the frantic pacing of the action. Relationships drive the core of the conflict, as attempts at confrontation are complicated by the fact that the faces and intentions of old friends are no longer reliable. The show centers on the strain of exploration when the map keeps changing.
