Twee Zomers

Two Summers received moderately positive reviews, with critics appreciating its tense, character-driven mystery and timely thematic ambitions. Reviewers highlighted the Flemish drama's uncompromising exploration of toxic masculinity, friendship dynamics, and the reckoning that occurs when historical, pre-"Me Too" crimes are confronted in adulthood. The acting across the ensemble cast and the dark, claustrophobic atmosphere were frequently singled out as effective elements that keep viewers hooked.

However, the show faced criticism regarding its narrative momentum and emotional nuance. Some reviewers observed that the series is a decidedly slow burn that takes too long to reach the core of its conflict, occasionally settling for a shallow exploration of trauma rather than digging deeply into character psychology. Despite these pacing flaws, most critics considered it a solid, twisty thriller that manages to be both entertaining and disquieting.
