Exterior Night

Exterior Night received high praise from critics, who welcomed director Marco Bellocchio's return to the 1978 kidnapping of Aldo Moro for his first foray into television. Reviewers highlighted the project as a riveting historical thriller that effectively broadens the scope of Bellocchio's acclaimed 2003 film Good Morning, Night, using the episodic format to explore multiple viewpoints surrounding the crisis rather than focusing solely on the captors.

Critics also commended the production quality and nuanced storytelling, noting that the saga carries a cinematic weight comparable to major theatrical political thrillers. Bellocchio was lauded for approaching the tragedy with a more humane perspective while retaining his acute directorial touch, backed by standout performances such as Fabrizio Gifuni's portrayal of Moro.
