Horimiya: The Missing Pieces
Overview
A new anime project that adapts popular side stories that were left out of the main anime series. As the graduation ceremony at Katagiri High School comes to an end, Kyouko Hori, her boyfriend Izumi Miyamura, and their friends begin to look back on their time as students. The moments they shared together may be fleeting, but each one is a colorful piece of their precious memories.
Horimiya: The Missing Pieces operates as a companion to the main series, filling in the gaps of the high school experience by focusing on the smaller, side narratives originally absent from the primary adaptation. These vignettes lean into the slice of life genre, prioritizing quiet development and character interiority over the high-stakes drama typical of many school-based romcoms.
The perspective shifts between Kyouko Hori and Izumi Miyamura, played by Koki Uchiyama, as the group navigates the transition toward graduation. By lingering on specific, overlooked memories, the animation builds a more complete picture of the relationships formed at Katagiri High School. It avoids the broad strokes of a standard romance, instead choosing to highlight the incremental, daily interactions that define these friendships. The result is an intentional look at the fleeting nature of the student years.
