My Dress-Up Darling

My Dress-Up Darling received an overwhelmingly warm response from critics and audiences, earning praise primarily for its heartfelt central dynamic and its vivid depiction of the craft and culture of cosplay. Reviewers noted that behind its frequent fanservice and racy presentation lies an emotionally resonant coming-of-age story centered on collaboration, creative passions, and mutual self-discovery.

While the romantic chemistry between the mismatched leads was widely celebrated, some critics found the show uneven. Lingering complaints centered on its heavy reliance on sexualized comedic tropes and occasional frustration with the male lead's flustered reactions. Nevertheless, the consensus viewed it as a visually appealing, genuinely sweet romantic comedy whose strengths comfortably overshadow its flaws.
