BEEF

Beef earned widespread critical acclaim upon its release, with reviewers hailing it as one of the standout series of 2023. Critics praised the show for transforming a seemingly straightforward road rage encounter into an inventive, emotionally layered exploration of existential despair, repressed trauma, and misplaced fury. The dark comedy was frequently described as gripping, chaotic, and sharply attuned to modern anxieties.

Central to the show's reception were the performances of lead actors Steven Yeun and Ali Wong. Commentators lauded their fierce chemistry and nuanced portrayals of deeply flawed characters, highlighting how their escalating feud balanced laugh-out-loud dark humor with genuine emotional resonance. While some noted that the escalating narrative pushed into intense and chaotic territory near the finale, the consensus remained that creator Lee Sung Jin crafted a bold, highly original, and culturally specific triumph.
