BLACK TORCH

Critical reception for Black Torch was split, with reviewers offering praise for the series' underlying premise and animation style while expressing disappointment over its execution. Some early advocates hailed the adaptation as a standout seasonal release, celebrating its dynamic visuals and high potential.

However, broader critical coverage grew frustrated with the show's imbalance between dialogue and spectacle. Multiple reviews lamented that the anime substituted expected action sequences with overwhelming amounts of exposition, resulting in pacing that felt simultaneously rushed and sluggish. Critics also pointed out that early character development leaned into heavy-handed moralizing, dampening the excitement of its ninja and supernatural premise.
