Coven Academy

Setting a supernatural mystery against the backdrop of New Orleans, Louisiana gives Coven Academy an atmospheric edge right from the start. The 2026 series works as a sharp dramedy, balancing the everyday turbulence of being a teenager with genuine fantasy stakes. It treats its witches not just as bearers of magic, but as young students sorting through complex alliances and rivalries in between spells.

At its core, the tension comes from the coven standing guard over their training grounds to fend off an encroaching, ruinous fate. With Malina Weissman anchoring the ensemble, the drama pairs an overarching sci-fi and fantasy puzzle with relatable interpersonal friction. The series avoids stiff self-seriousness by keeping the humor alive, grounding its occult world in real adolescent grit and camaraderie.
